Current Issues & Projects Keeping a Lid on Crime This neighbourhood has a wonderfully low crime rate, but to keep it that way, we need all residents to be aware of potential vandalism and other criminal activity on your street and in the public areas of the neighbourhood (parks, playground, school, etc.). We encourage people to include these areas in your walks and to report any suspicious activity to the police complaint line: 780-423-4567. This includes mischief, disturbances and suspicious vehicles. If you see graffiti in progress, call 911. (Please maintain your safety and do not confront the suspects yourself.) The police are busy but they DO want to hear from us. Let's keep our community one of the best! Hall Maintenance Many elements of the league's hall are approaching the end of their useful life, while others are in immediate need of replacement. The hall is used year-round for family functions, fitness nights, children's programs, community events, and more. The league is committed to maintaining the hall for current and future generations of residents to enjoy. The City will soon be making infrastructure grants available to community leagues that can demonstrate need, readiness to proceed, and financial ability to match grant funding. We are thankful to Christie for joining the board to help us work on such grants and other league business. School Crosswalk for 65 Street Significant concern has been raised over the safety of students crossing 65 Street to and from Hardisty School. Various community stakeholders are engaged with efforts to create a safe crosswalk to alleviate these conditions. For more information, please call Gavin @ 780-465-0550. Fulton Ravine South Skate Park The South East Community Leagues Association (SECLA) identified the need for additional recreation opportunities for youth and seniors, and has put together a concept plan for a skate park and amenity area across the street from the new Capilano Fire Station on 98 Ave. Fulton Place Community League supports this initiative.
