The 2026 Red Cross Babysitting and Stay Safe courses will be held on Wednesday April 1 and Thursday April 2 at the Fulton Place Community League Hall 6115 Fulton Rd NW. Both courses are organized and taught by Little Lungs First Aid Inc. through the Red Cross and include official Red Cross manuals and certificates upon completion.

The Stay Safe course focuses primarily on personal safety skills, while the Babysitting course expands on those concepts and includes training on how to care for and keep others safe. While it is ultimately up to the parents’ discretion whether their child is ready to babysit, the Babysitting course is the best option for those who would like to gain the full set of skills and tools needed.

The Stay Safe course on April 1st is from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The age range is 9 to 13 (or 9 in the same calendar year).

The Babysitting course on April 2nd is from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The age range is 11 (or 11 in the same calendar year) to about 15 years old.

If you have kids interested outside of those age ranges, let us know and we can discuss what the best option is for their training.

The cost for Stay Safe is $44.95+ gst + GST and the cost for Babysitting is $54.95 for Greater Hardisty Community League (Fulton Place, Capilano, Gold Bar) members. All graduates are welcome to join our Babysitter Registry. Fulton Place is subsidizing $20 of the original fee.
